Just got in the latest DVD from John Mayes! Advanced Voicing....covers a lot of different areas of top voicing for different types of playing styles in the most used top tonewoods....
Man, after last wednesday night's fingerboard fiasco ( the router incident post named "A shark bit my fingerboard") I found myself with nothing to do until a new fingerboard arrives in the mail since I don't have any more at hand.
Well, this morning I had a nice surprise....the New DVD from John Mayes Advanced Voicing arrived in the mail....that took care of some extra time I had to spare!
In his DVD John takes you in a nice journey through voicing techniques and information highly valuable if you want to take your guitar making skills and push them a little further (at least in my case)

So here is my feedback:
Very entertaining
Definatelly funny and hillarious at times
Highly informative
Seriously a must have to all Luthiers

Thanks and Great Job John....

oh no it's hidden somewhere on the DVD.. you'll have to search if you
want to find it... and believe me it's not worth really finding as it is the
most lame rap song ever to come into being.

John, if it is indeed that lame, I'll be sure to extract it from the DVD and post it here at the OLF for everyone to hear it!

I'm looking forward to receiving my copy. John, are the 4 guitars being voiced on the video played at the end to hear the final results?

You must search hard. It's there. I'm not going to just give the location/
sequence of it...

for now the only thing I came across was the Oscar Mayer song!
Maybe you should consider a singing career

Hey John--they got the internet on the "other side," too?!! Stan T. told us of your untimely demise in the "thicknessing" thread, so I'm glad to see you can still connect with the OLF. Considering where your new shop is, your next video ought to be really something!

I have absolutely no idea what the heck this post means! Is there
something I'm missing? My shop is in a small town on the main street
about 15 miles from my house...

In another post someone mentioned that you lived only three hours.....instead of three hours away. Hence, you're writing to us from the "other side"Iplaytheoldies38794.0316435185

It's just a joke, John. Find the still-active "thicknessing" thread, check Stan Thomison's post and my response, and all will be revealed. Sorry for the confusion.
